ITL’s Ustus Agur scholarship aims to support the doctoral studies of a public university’s doctoral student whose topic of the doctoral thesis is narrowly related to the field of ICT or broadly related to the use of ICT in another field. The scholarship also promotes the outstanding contribution of Ustus Agur in the development of Estonian society.
The amount of scholarship is EUR 2,000.
"We must constantly invest in the succession of the Estonian research community, because without research and development there will be no innovation," explains Ivo Lasn, ITL board member. "The Scholarship named after Ustus Agur - a pioneer of the information society - is one of our opportunities to recognize young people for their contribution to the field of information and communication technologies."
The scholarship is regulated by Ustus Agur Scholarship Statute. Doctoral student matriculated in Estonian public university can apply for the scholarship.
Application deadline is 31 October 2019.
Allocation of the scholarship considers the expected influence of the applicant´s doctoral thesis to the development of Estonian society and current professional activities of the applicant.
Allocation of the scholarship will be decided by 15 November 2019 at the latest.
ITL’s Ustus Agur Scholarship is awarded for supporting the studies of PhD candidates of Estonian public universities. Allocation of the Scholarship considers the expected influence of the applicants subject of the doctoral thesis on the development of Estonian society and his current professional activities. The scholarship amount is 2,000 euros and it is awarded in cooperation with the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Estonian Information Technology Foundation for Education. ITL’s Ustus Agur scholarship is awarded from 2003.
