The Information Technology Foundation for Education (HITSA) is a partner to the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, educational institutions and Estonia’s ICT sector in providing competitive ICT education that meets modern needs.
In order to improve the quality of IT education, we cooperate with universities and institutions of applied higher education in Estonia.
In cooperation with the companies in technology sector, we award grants to support the studies of Estonian IT specialists and managers. Estonia's leading enterprises and organisations such as Skype, EMT, Elion, LHV Pank, the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications, etc., also contribute to the education of young people.
HITSA represents Estonia in such organisations as European Schoolnet, Media & Learning Association, European Distance and e-Learning Network (EDEN), European Foundation for Quality in e-Learning (EFQUEL).
The HITSA’s EENet is a member of the the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association (TERENA) and European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) and participates in the pan-European research and education network GÉANT.
HITSA also acts as Estonian coordinator in several international projects related to information technology and education. Participation in the work of international networks provides us on one hand with access to innovative information and on the other hand, it offers an opportunity to decide on which practices to follow and which ones to neglect.
